We love it, not only because it has salt in its name, but also because it's the talisman of our favorite island. Yes, there are legends about salamanders on Ibiza...

The Legend of the Immortal Salamanders
According to an ancient Ibizan legend, the salamander on the island was said to possess magical powers. It was believed that these animals were invulnerable and could even live in fire without being burned. This idea likely dates back to European alchemy and medieval mythology, in which the salamander was portrayed as a creature capable of surviving in flames.
In Ibiza, locals told stories of salamanders emerging from fires unharmed during the hot summer months. Some even believed that salamanders had the ability to control fire, and it was said that having a salamander near the house would bring good luck, as it could protect the home from fire.
Some versions of the legend say that the salamanders are the island's guardians, watching over the forces of nature. Through their connection to fire, they can prevent the island from being struck by disasters.
These tales contributed to the Ibizans' perception of salamanders not as simple lizards, but as special, almost mystical creatures. Today, these stories are part of the island's rich cultural heritage and reflect the inhabitants' respect and fascination with nature.

The little salamander SALino, SAL de IBIZA's mascot, was hand-painted in Berlin as part of a special project. This is an inclusion project that enables people with disabilities to use their artistic skills and thus make a valuable contribution to society. Through this collaboration, SAL de IBIZA is delighted to not only create a unique product, but also to assume social responsibility and actively promote inclusion. This commitment demonstrates that the company stands not only for high quality but also for strong social commitment.
